ABOUT THE ACHIEVERS’ SCHOOL

The vision to establish this school, (Achievers’ Christian Academy), was given in 2003 by the Lord. Like Gideon, the Lord programmed the director to Delta state in 2005 to re-assure him that Him (The Lord) sent me to establish it for His glory and by September, 2008 the school was establish and dedicated to the Glory of God. Ever then the Lord has been helping and sustaining us by His Grace.

The school operates Day-care, Nursery, Primary and secondary sections (or Arms according to the scriptural pattern). We combine the International Accelerated Christian Education and Nigeria Curriculum to give the Best type of education to our children.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

1.           To inculcate in individual child Christian ethics of Godliness, Cleanliness, Tolerance, Discipline, Punctuality, and Social adaptability for life.

2.           To lay a solid foundation in the rudiments of writing, reading, letters, numerical, colours, shape, and develop the individual child creativity and cognitive ability.

3.           To allow individual child discover his/her talent; acquire manual dexterity through exposure to a wide variety of toys and other educational materials.

4.           To encourage team work, Love, Unity and help each other through co-curricular activities (play).

5.           To allow individual child appreciate the importance of songs, art, drama, literature, science in communications as a feature of all the elements around us for the foundational ingredients that forms their basis in life.

6.           Above all, to teach the individual child early in life the personality of God, qualities that is expected of him/her as child of God, how to live on God’s word, practical prayer life and how to acquire sound Christian virtues.

THE NURSERY DEPARTMENT

1.           PRE-NURSERY (DAYCARE): In our very conductive environment, attention is given to each child and the child studies/learn in a relaxed mode/condition. Provide basic playing equipment that keeps and engages the child through introduction of numbers, letters, stories, rhymes, colours, objects etc. as the preparatory ground for the nursery classes, age on admission is between 6-months and 24months

2.           NURSERY: We focuses our attention on social, Spiritual, Educational and Mental development of the child through play group activities, talents are discovered, groomed, developed and enhanced as every child is given a start in singing, prayers, bible verse recitations, stories (tell stories) rhymes, numerical, alphabets, shapes, colours, sizes, etc.

THE PRIMARY DEPARTMENT

At this level, we inculcate permanent literacy, numeracy, ability to communicate effectively, we inculcate and enhance development of scientific thinking and sound attitude to co-ordinate the cognitive, effective and psychomotor domains properly and adequately for life standards. The child is given the ability to adopt to his/her environment through our unfeigned love (1^st peter 1:22), affection, care and opportunities for developing manipulative skills that will enable the child function effectively in the society. Admission into primary school can be achieved in either ways.

i)             Graduation from Nursery department from Achievers’ Christian Academy or any other school. The child must have completed his/her Nursery education.

ii)           Transfer from other schools.

iii)          The child must come with his/her former schools transfer certificate.

iv)          The child will be tested in both oral and written test before admission and allocation of a class.

Accelerated Christian Education(School Of Tomorrow)

A co-educational Christian School providing individualized learning,combining the Nigerian Curriculum and The International Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) Curriculum.
We are located at plot 5-9 Divine avenue,Sunlight Estate,Umuebule 2 Sunlight Estate,Etche LGA,Rivers State.

THE SCHOOL CURRICULUM

ACHIEVERS’ CHRISTIAN ACADEMY shall implement the federal, state and International Accelerated Christian Education curriculum. We are therefore obliged to offer a wide range of subjects that will provide each child a solid, sound and dependable springboard for secondary, Tertiary Education and the world of opportunities in life.

Our emphasis is based on continuous assessment system of evaluation, cultural and social activities are given prominence as co-curricular activities.

SCHOOL HOURS

Daycare classes close by 1.00pm. Nursery classes close by 1.30pm

Primary classes close by 2.30pm. Secondary classes close by 3.30pm

Every school day. Public holidays are observed accordingly

The school uniforms and P.E wears are provided by the school Authority, No parentis allowed to provide anyone outside, this is to allow for uniformity both in sewing and quality.

                       EXERCISE/TEXT BOOKS

The school produces and provides all reading and writing materials and it is compulsory that each child obtain his/her materials from the school store. Textbooks are also available in the school book store and the prices are highly subsidized for our pupils.

               PARENTS TEACHERS ASSOCIATION (PTA)

All parents and guardians of pupils in the school are automatic members of the PTA. It is our great expectation that every parent/guardian plays a very active and important role in this association so as to assist the school management take the school to a higher level.

                         THE PTA AIMS/OBJECTIVES

i.            Promote good relationship, love, care amongst parents/guardian and staff of Achievers’ Christian Academy.

ii.          Serves as an avenue to get feedback from our parent/guardian.

iii.        To promote and foster a united effort towards the development of individual child in particular and the school a body.

iv.         To be parents in family (Achievers’) progress, prosperity, and in prayers, privately, individually and co-operatively.

VISIT TO THE SCHOOL

During our PTA meeting, during that day, as part of our activities, parents are advised and encouraged to interact, ask questions, suggest as well a recommend to the classroom teacher of your ward/child(ren) the best/better way to achieve maximum/excellent result from the child. Observe or perceived inadequacies should be directed to the management through the head Teacher. Suggestion box is also open all parents/guardians who will like to write in for areas of improvements, advancements, etc that will make us achieve greatness.

               HOME WORK/COMMUNICATION BOOKLET

The school has a weekly progress report/communication booklet for home work, assignments, projects, etc that is given to the child. The parent is expected to sign it, please guide the child(ren) do not do assignment for them

                                          MEALS

Parents are encouraged to provide lunch for their child(ren) (especially fruits) since we cannot absolutely substitute for your love. However, if any parent wants the school to provide for his/her ward/child, such parent should contact the school bursar for such agreement.

                                   PLAY GROUND

A well demarcated and decorated playground is provided for safe and sufficient equipment for both outdoor and activities, all for our child that we love dearly.

                                      SICK BAY

A standard sick bay is provided to treat and care for very minor alignment or injuries, with well equipped first aid box of international standard.

                                       LIBRARY

A well equipped and up to date e-library and hard-copies books are available for our pupils/students.

                               INTERNET FACILITIES

We appropriate a state of the art computer library with internet facilities to access the world and our school can be reached us at

SCHOOL BUS SERVICES

We convey pupils on parent demand. Our school bus does not wait for anybody rather pupils wait for the bus on designated bus stops and time allocated to them. Our services are first come, first serve basis.

                                    STAFF PROFILE

We recruit, maintain and parade the best, talented and experienced crop of teachers and workers available for PRE-Nursery, Nursery, Grade/Primary and Secondary. Their qualification ranges from teachers grade11, National certificate in education (NCE), to University Degrees and masters. We have dedicated Men of God that are in partnership with us to enhance and maintain our Spiritual Development.
